This is the kind of image that, to me, says a lot with very little.
It reflects the world of football, a world I was never good at, never drawn to.
And still, growing up as a boy, not playing football somehow makes you stand out… it turns you into a target.
That’s where the title comes from.
“Target” feels obvious at first, almost literal. But it also speaks to something else: the way certain expectations are placed onto the male body, how it is shaped, judged, and often reduced to a narrow script. To fit in, to perform, to belong.
This work sits right there, between what is seen, and what is silently imposed.
